Breast reduction procedure: This surgery is carried out under general anesthesia. We at Zenil Aesthetics employ the newest technique of breast reduction called as vertical scar reduction with superomedial pedicle. It involves removing the excess breast tissue and bringing the nipple areola to its normal position higher up. A compressive dressing is applied after the surgery. Drains are placed to remove excess fluid which are removed after 3-4 days. The dressing changed after 2 days and sports bra is applied. Patient is usually discharged on 3rd post-operative day. Will the scar be visible and where will it be? With the new technique of superomedial pedicle based vertical breast reduction, the scar extends from areola down to just short of inframammary crease. It’s barely visible as most of the scar is located underneath the breast. It camouflages with the rest of the breast by one year and is barely visible.
